Choose Your Date & Time Slot
Entry is by timed slot and slots are booked in advance. Pick your visit date and the arrival time that suits you — opening hours change with the season, so the available slots change with the date.
Select Your Tickets
Choose adult, child, senior, student or family tickets. Under-5s go free. Admission covers the stone circle, the visitor centre exhibition, the Neolithic houses, the shuttle bus and the audio tour.
Complete the Purchase
Check out for instant confirmation and a mobile ticket. Show it at the admissions point in the visitor centre when you arrive — without your booking confirmation you cannot be let in.
What Your Ticket Includes
Timed entry to the stone circle along the visitor path, the visitor centre exhibition with its prehistoric objects and standing-stones film, the reconstructed Neolithic houses, the shuttle bus between the visitor centre and the stones, and the free audio tour you download to your own phone. Car parking is charged separately: £4 for non-members.
Age Recommendations
Suitable for all ages. Under-5s go free, child tickets cover ages 5 to 17, and a family ticket covers two adults and three children. Children need to be accompanied by an adult, and there is plenty of open space for them to walk off the energy.
Best Time to Attend
The first and last slots of the day are the quietest, and the low light over the stones is at its best then. The last tickets of the day are sold at 2.30pm, or 4.30pm in June, July and August.
Facilities
The café, shop, toilets and baby-changing facilities are all at the visitor centre — there are none at the stone circle itself, so go before you take the bus. You are welcome to picnic on site. There is no cloakroom or left luggage, and bags may be checked on arrival, so bring only what you need.
Accessibility
The visitor centre and the shuttle bus are fully wheelchair accessible, and the path from the bus stop to the circle is around 200 metres with a slight gradient. Wheelchairs are available on site on a first-come, first-served basis. Assistance dogs are welcome everywhere; other dogs are not allowed on the bus or in the field where the stones stand.

Most visitors spend around two hours here. The shuttle takes 5 to 10 minutes each way and runs every few minutes, which leaves time to walk the full circuit of the stones, stop for photographs and go through the exhibition and the Neolithic houses on the way back.
Walking one or both ways instead adds 25 to 40 minutes each way across open fields, so allow half a day if you want to take the landscape in properly. There is no time limit at the stones — but the visitor centre facilities close at 5pm, or 7pm in June, July and August, so leave enough time to get back.
